Is it possible that foods that you eat can help aging skin and help improve your skin elasticity as you age?

Sadly though maintaining skin elasticity into older age isn’t quite as simple as eating 2 or 3 foods.

But there’s no doubt at all that your general diet is extremely important to your overall skin health. Eating a good diet is extremely important to maintaining skin health into older age.

You need to follow all the advice that you read everywhere about eating to stay healthy. Lower intake of fats, particularly animal fats, higher intake of fresh fruit and vegetables and lower intake of salt and sugar. What is good for our body generally is good for our skin. No doubt.

But there are many people who think that there are miracle foods that help improve skin elasticity in aging skin and which help slow the skin aging process. And to some extent thats true. But actually producing the result you want, namely to improve your skin health and the looks of your skin simply by eating isnt as easy as you might expect.

Lets look at 2 examples of foods that help improve skin elasticity in aging skin.

1. Omega 3 you’re probably familiar with. It’s a good fat found in oily fish and in some other foods and it’s recommended for heart health and has some other benefits for the body too. But you may be unaware that omega 3 fats are also very good for your skin.

For a whole range of reasons a diet high in omega 3 fats is very important and you ought to be aware of this. But it’s not quite as easy ensuring that you eat a lot of omega 3. Some societies eat a lot of the right types of fish, for example, but we tend not to. And fish can be very expensive and getting more so.

2. Seaweed is another food that is very good for skin elasticity. Not just any old seaweed but a seaweed that is found around the coast of Japan called phytessence wakame. It might sound strange to say that it is a food, but the Japanese have eaten phytessence wakame for centuries, fresh and dried. It is a big part of the Japanese diet from very young right through to old age.

It’s true that Japanese women have wonderful skin. Probably the worlds best skin, right into old age. And science has set about finding out why, and the scientists have traced it back to the phytessence wakame they eat.

There’s all sorts of reasons why phytessence wakame is so good for your skin, but that’s the subject of another article. I’ve written a lot more about it on my website.

There’s many more foods that contain ingredients that are beneficial to your skin, but you might see what were getting at here.

So there’s no doubt that eating a generally healthy diet is very good for your skin right through life, but actually finding specific foods that help improve skin health and things like skin elasticity isn’t easy.

And in many cases the active ingredients in some foods can actually be better for your skin when applied directly to your skin, rather than eaten.

So what do you do if you want to improve your skin elasticity? (And theres no doubt that skin elasticity and improving skin elasticity is essential in the fight against wrinkles.)

What you can do is to use the best natural skin care products that contain all these ingredients in one easy to use product.

Most big brand skin care products tend to contain chemical ingredients manufactured in a lab, usually as these are much cheaper than natural ingredients. But its quite possible to get skin care products with the ingredients mentioned above, and lots more. That way you dont need to try and find seaweed to eat, or spend your time eating oily fish. Its really way too hard trying to combat skin wrinkles or loss of skin elasticity by eating specific foods. Certainly focus on eating a healty diet, but everyone ought to do that anyway.

Science has found many natural ingredients in foods and other places that are extremely important to good skin health, and improving skin elasticity, and put them in high quality natural skin care products.
