Many years ago in France a man named Emile Coue came up with an idea which was unique for the time. His idea was that if you repeated a phrase to yourself often enough you could bring about change. No one had ever come up with such a seemingly original belief before Coues original thought.

What was Coue’s famous short phrase? You’ve probably heard it:

Every day, in every way I m getting better and better.

For some reason people began to recite this phrase and it seemed to work. But of course, neither Coue nor anyone else had any solid idea of why it worked. People just began saying this phrase and it eventually became famous.

Coue, apparently, had invented what are called Affirmations, today. They are just a phrase or a short sentence which Affirms that you want something to happen.

Do Affirmations work?

Yes, Affirmations do work. Virtually every self-help program or method extant today uses Affirmations. Some call it by a different name, but they are in the end all just Affirmations. Today, a large proportion of the population has apparently heard of Affirmations and many use this technique.

Why Affirmations do work.

(1) The more determined you are to make your changes, the better they work.

(2) Then, the more you are prepared to accept desired change, the more effective Affirmations are.

(3) When change occurs you should be prepared to accept it and let go of the past..

The more closely you follow these three steps, the better your Affirmations wlll work Being willing to accept change is a big part of making Affirmations come to pass. Your success is, as they say, up to you.

There is a reasonable idea behind Affirmation success.

Those who study this subject, indicate that the subconscious mind is key. We all have a subconscious mind, of course, and it is more powerfu lthan most people realize

When we say (and think) that an Affirmation is true, our subconscious has to make a choice. Will it accept or resist the Affirmation?

In the end, your subconscious will accept what you are saying to it. Dont be surprised if it takes some time. Your subconscious may not agree with you at first because it is zeroed in on your past set of beliefs. Some of these past beliefs may have been installed by your parents when you were very young. These early beliefs are often difficult to overcome.

Although, if your subconscious believed all along in what you said in your Affirmation, things could change fast. That is what happens when people say that the change was “a miracle”.

Affirmations will reprogram your unconscious mind’s belief system. This is what leads to change. Once resistance is broken, your subconscious is able to re-examine your core beliefs and patterns. The effect of this reprogramming can be startling and things can change fast as dysfunctional beliefs get identified and replaced by your personal new inner truth.

Because Affirmations reprogram your thought patterns, they actually change the way you think and feel about things. Because you have replaced dysfunctional beliefs with your own new positive beliefs, positive change comes easily and more naturally

A new computer program is reputed to be effective when it comes to Affirmations and making changes. This program runs on your computer. The author claims it takes but 10 minutes a day to become effective.

This article’s scope does not encompass more details than those given above. To go into detail would require writing a very long piece about computers and the mind, which we do not want to do here.
